Royal Deeside Motor Show postponed to 2022

It has been nearly four months since we started planning the inaugural Royal Deeside Motor Show and we have genuinely been overwhelmed by the support and appetite for staging this celebration of all things motor, at the beautiful destination of Kincardine Castle and Estate.

We receive noted interests on a daily basis from individuals, clubs, local and national businesses and organisations who continue to express their enthusiasm to get involved, and passion for the motor industry. If you await a personal response from us, please bear with us as we pour over each email received.

We, of course, continue to closely monitor the fluid situation relating to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. In particular, the last sixteen weeks have presented a challenge and a frustration as we all live a progression to better times, digression to worst times, and right now, a hope that the ongoing vaccine programme goes some way towards a suppression of the virus, and ultimately a move towards better times again during 2021.

As an events company, Etiom operate a range of indoor and outdoor events, which are all designed to support small medium and large, local and national and international businesses to promote themselves, whilst offering something of value in terms of education, knowledge and entertainment. Events contribute significantly to Scotland’s economy and Visit Scotland is supporting events companies such as our own to preserve as much of the industry as possible. Therefore, we are determined to reciprocate this support by investing time and money to make Royal Deeside Motor Show one of the best motor shows in the events calendar.

Whilst it looked achievable during 4Q20 that a reasonably large-scale outdoor event in July 2021 was achievable, with the new lockdown, rising cases and new variants of the virus, there are strong indications that this year will continue to be disrupted despite the vaccine roll-out. It will therefore come as no surprise to some that we announce the difficult but sensible decision to wait until July 2022 to stage Royal Deeside Motor Show when we can be more certain of being able to deliver it safely and secure the maximum showcase of motors possible. We have considered a later date in 2021, but this would again be shrouded in doubt and then susceptible to a higher chance of being impacted by inclement weather.

However, it is not all doom and gloom. This postponement presents a huge opportunity for us to work with our sponsors and exhibitors over a longer period of time and continue to plan for an enhanced experience for 2022, including for example the potential to expand from one day to two days, offer overnight accommodation onsite, additional entertainment and experiences, and even a bitesize version of the event this coming Summer, if at all possible and a sensible thing to do. We therefore announce that the new date for Royal Deeside Motor Show 2022 is 16-17 July 2022.

For those that have reserved tickets and exhibitor spaces, we will be in touch over the next week or so. Please keep submitting your enquiries and submitting motor showcase entries. We are continuing to review these and we will be back in touch with everyone that has submitted to date.

It is an incredibly challenging time for anyone planning events during this time and we hope that those supporting Royal Deeside Motor Show now, will continue to support it for its new date. In addition, we have a number of exciting announcements lined up for the coming months and we will be sharing the range of motors, businesses and organisations that will be showcasing at the event in July 2022, and we look forward to building the momentum to what will be a cracking motor celebration to look forward to!
