Exciting Plans for Year 2

Thanks to every one of you that took the time out to share with us constructive feedback to build on the inaugural motor show back in August this year. Thank you so much! We have analysed the good, the bad, the ugly, and we are immersed in planning and developing enhancements for those elements that we need to improve, and opportunities for a bigger and better motor show for 2022. All our partners involved are working hard designing an exciting weekend of motoring actives and attractions for all the family,  an ideal weekend for any motor enthusiast.

So here's a wee early preview on the projects we are working on:-

  • Visual motor attractions - We are designing a full weekend timetable of motor attractions for all attendees, bringing excitement and drama to motorsport enthusiasts across UK, including a dedicated motor entertainment arena;
  • Cartie Race - it's back! Applications are now open, so get thinking, designing, building! Lots of design hints and tips available on our website. We are continuing with our partnership with The Scottish Cartie Association, who are busy designing the all new extended racetrack and obstacles;
  • 4x4 offroad experience - We are delighted to welcome the Buchan Offroad Drivers Club who are reviewing and adding an all-new 4x4 orienteering safari to the popular offroad 4x4 experience. A free attraction and ideal for anyone who’s keen to test a 4x4's off-road abilities;
  • Motor Showcasing and Parades - A thrilling full weekend schedule of motor showcase parades of motors, including performance, classic, retro, contemporary, agri, and heavy haulage, motorbikes, campers, 4x4s, tractors, HGVs and more;

Improvements to existing event set-up, including:-

  • Additional entry and exits, designed to streamline and reduce queuing times;
  • Redesigned showcase villages, allowing motor clubs to showcase their motors whilst giving them the opportunity to meet like-minded motor enthusiasts;
  • Larger motor retail areas, and introducing new areas for dealerships & autojumble;
  • Shorter grass, better ingress and egress times for showcasers;
  • Additional food and drink offerings, optimised serving times;
  • Enhanced communications throughout each day and bigger signage;
  • Hop on Hop off transportation, perfect for those needing a wee hand getting round the large site and a bit of fun for the kiddies;

Onsite Accommodation options:-

  • We were inundated with requests to offer onsite accommodation and entertainment options. We have been investigating what is achievable on site and the costs involved in delivering this. We now have the full costs and preferred suppliers, which opens up the options for basic tent pitches, glamping pods or bringing your own motorhome. Guests can enjoy the beautiful views over the surrounding countryside and Royal Deeside valley, whilst listening to two exciting evenings of professional live performances from local artists both Friday and Saturday nights. We are working on offering toilets, shower blocks, water and power options.

As our plans continue to come to fruition, this is all subject to change and we thank you for coming forward and offering us suggestions for what you want to see again, what you would like to see in addition, and what we can enhance, so that the Royal Deeside Motor Show continues to build year on year. An event of this size requires a lot of planning and this is why it is so important to continue getting feedback from everyone that wants to get involved.

We'd also like to continue to thank all our partners and charities involved in the planning of the 2022 event.
